During the run-up to 2014 general elections, Pawan told his fans and political observers that he would not be contesting the polls as he did not want to split the vote bank.
So the elections happened and TDP-BJP alliance came to power in Andhra Pradesh. BJP came to power at the Centre. At the time, he promised that he would question if BJP or TDP did not fulfill their poll promises.
Now, a year later, he confesses that BJP hasn’t kept its promise of according special status to Andhra Pradesh. Yet, he maintains that he does not the requisite position or support to take on BJP.
He counters saying that he is not a MP to question BJP. Of course, he agrees he can take to the streets, but asserts that it is the job of ruling TDP to question BJP and get the approval.
At elections time, Pawan specifically asked people to vote for TDP-BJP. Now he says he does not have a post to question them. Isn’t it proof of his procrastinating nature?
Also, one must observe that he is hinting at contesting during the next general elections. He says irrespective of whether he wins or not, he would still contest for experience.
Now, is Pawan trying to experiment with politics? People will vote for a politician who will fight for them and they will then get posts. Instead, Pawan says he needs a post to take up their fight. Isn’t it washing his hands off people’s problems and being highly irresponsible?
