Power seems to have gone into the head of Telugu Desam Party general secretary and Andhra Pradesh IT minister Nara Lokesh, who is said to be turning arrogant towards the people who raiseproblems of various sections of people.
A couple of days ago, Lokesh turned a blind eye, when workers of now-closed Kesineni Travels owned by TDP MP Kesineni Nani, came to the party office in Vijayawada to explain their woes.
About 400 workers of the travels assembled there to meet Lokesh and tell him how the travels management had not paid them salaries for the last few months, but abruptly wound up the business without any notice.
But Lokesh did not even look at them and asked his party workers to push them aside. This resulted in a clash between the travels workers and the TDP activists, before the police intervened and calmed the situation.
The travels workers lamented that Lokesh had humiliated them by instigating the party workers to attack them.
This is not the first time that Lokesh behaved so arrogantly. A video clipping of Lokesh should down a middle aged woman at a meeting has gone viral in the social media.
And there was another incident of Lokesh shouting at Subabul farmers in Vijayawada when they appealed to minister about the money dues they have to get from Market Yard committee. Lokesh lost his cool, when they were explaining their woes and asked them get last.
If Lokesh has to emerge as people’s leader, he should give up his arrogance and become down-to-earth in dealing with the people, say analysts.
