Egomaniacs Blocking People's Welfare

Egomaniacs Blocking People's Welfare

If a politician happens to have a huge ego, then he or she is unconcerned even if it comes in the way of the people's development. Mamata Banerjee is one such leader.

She was elected to power in Bengal, putting an end to 33 years of communist rule and was considered as something of a messiah. However, her period in office so far has anything but satisfactory.

Be it her controversial statements, her firebrand nature or politics of vendetta, the very people who voted her to power are now despairing of her.

Mamata Banerjee was the only Chief Minister absent at the first ‘Niti Aayog Governing Council Meeting’ chaired by Modi. Even Jammu and Kashmir in the absence of a Chief Minister sent its Governor.

All the Chief Ministers including those opposed to BJP were present and expressed their opinion on the changes and reforms they would like to see in ‘Niti Aayog’ compared to the Planning Commission.

All of them got an opportunity to present the problems being faced by their State and request for assistance from the PM personally. Thus, Mamata Banerjee has lost out on an excellent opportunity and failed the people of Bengal by letting her Party’s rivalry with BJP come in the way of the development of Bengal.
