Don't Come Into Politics, RK Tells Pavan

Chairman of Andhra Jyothy daily and Andhra Jyothy-ABN television channel Vemuri Radhakrishna has come out with a strange advice to power star-cum-Jana Sena Party president Pavan Kalyan: “Please don’t come into politics but be a whistle blower to keep the governments on toes always.”

In his weekly-column in Andhra Jyothy on Sunday, Radhakrishna said nobody would question the sincerity of Pavan Kalyan in reforming the society, but entering politics was not the right path for him.

He gave a reason for it,Today’s politics is clumsy and it involves various equations – caste, money and manipulations. Pavan, who does not have any money power, manipulative techniques and the art of playing caste cards, cannot succeed in politics.

He cited the example of Lok Satta chief Jayaprakash Narayan, who had miserably failed in politics and had to wind up his party as he did not have any of these qualities.

“So, in order to serve people, Pavan doesn’t need to come to politics, but fight for the people’s causes by being a whistle blower and awakening the society,” RK said.

For once, one might get convinced by RK’s argument. But, if one were to read between the lines of his column, it is clearly evident that he does not want any strong force to emerge as an alternative to the TDP and pose a threat to the seat of Chief Minister N Chandraababu Naidu.

If the politics is dirty, there should be someone who has to clean this dirt. And why can’t it be Pavan Kalyan? If Jayaprakash Narayan and Chiranjeevi proved failures, is there any guarantee that Pavan also should meet the same fate?

Who knows, he might bring a refreshing change in politics? Who is Radhakrishna to ask Pavan not to enter politics, instead of leaving it to the people to judge?
