In a rude shock to Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu, party MLA from Kukatpally Madhavaram Krishna Rao on Saturday made a jump into the Telangana Rashtra Samithi, making things easy for the latter to win the fifth MLC seat.
Krishna Rao met TRS president and Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao at the latter’s farm house in Medak district in the afternoon.
One does not know what sort of bargaining took place between the two, but within minutes, Krishna Rao announced that he was joining the TRS for the development of his constituency.
Interestingly, Krishna Rao took active part in the TDP Mahanadu till Friday. Within a day, he shifted loyalties.
He said he would prostrate before Chandrababu Naidu for giving him a position in the party and also thanked Lokesh Naidu for encouraging him. However, he said he had no option but to join the TRS in the given circumstances.
