Photos and portraits of senior Congress leaders who defected to other parties were adorning the walls of Gandhi Bhavan till now.
And after the exist of former PCC chief D Srinivas, it struck to the party leadership that the presence of their pictures does more harm than good for the party.
On Saturday, senior Congress leaders including V Hanumanth Rao and former minister R Damodar Reddy went to Gandhi Bhavan and removed the photos of former APCC chiefs — D Srinivas, K Keshav Rao and Botsa Sathyanarayana from the walls of media conference hall.
However, DS took the decision with a pinch of salt. Responding to the removal of his photo along with other former PCC chiefs, Srinivas said that he was leaving the issue to the wisdom of the Congress party leaders.
He made it clear that he will not remove the AICC Chief Sonia Gandhi’s photo in his residence.
