Cross Voting Tension For Naidu, Jagan!

Cross Voting Tension For Naidu, Jagan!

The voting for MLC elections under local bodies’ quota in Kadapa, Kurnool and Nellore districts on Friday is said to have caused some anxious moments for both Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu and YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy.

According to reports, there was a large scale cross voting in all the three districts. In fact, the MLC seats in these three districts should have gone into the kitty of the YSR Congress party, as it has the majority number of MPTC, ZPTC members and municipal councillors.

However, after the TDP came to power in 2014, many of them jumped to the TDP especially in Nellore and Kurnool districts.

However, Naidu got the reports that a large number of these MPTC and ZPTC members who defected to the TDP had cross-voted for the YSRCP in the MLC elections. He is said to be suspecting that the YSRC had bribed the TDP voters.

Interestingly, in Kadapa, YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, too, is suspecting that some of his party voters were bribed by the TDP leadership and made them cross-vote for the TDP candidate.

Till the results are out on Monday, this tension will remain for both the TDP and YSRC!
