At a time when megastar Chiranjeevi has almost forgotten that he is also a politician, the sudden whip from the Congress party high command has reminded him of his political responsibilities.
For the last few days, Chiranjeevi had been busy with shooting for his 150th film. But, a couple of days ago, he received a letter from the party whip to compulsorily attend the Rajya Sabha session on Friday, when the private member bill to be introduced by his colleague K V P Ramachandra Rao on special category status to Andhra Pradesh is slated for discussion and voting. The party high command issued a three-line whip to all the MPs.
Having no other option, Chiranjeevi packed up his shooting schedule slated for Friday and rushed to Delhi to attend Parliament. He has to invariably vote for the Congress party’s bill.
So, he reluctantly cancelled his shooting, though he is not very much keen on politics, say Delhi sources.
