Punctuality has never been a strong trait of Indians and especially, our politicians.
The ‘Speaker’ of AP Assembly, Kodela Siva Prasad Rao has taken it up among himself to try and broker peace between the agitating farmers and the government on the land pooling scheme.
Accordingly a meeting was arranged between the farmers and the cabinet sub-committee on land pooling at 5 PM at R&B Bungalow.
However, the members of the sub-committee, Devineni Uma and Prathipati Pulla Rao reached the venue at around 8.30 pm and 9.30 pm respectively.
The poor farmers were not even provided chairs to sit down on. Angered at this treatment, the farmers left the venue raising slogans against the government.
However, local MLA Sravan Kumar managed to pacify a few of them and brought them back to the negotiating table.
Ironically, Kodela Siva Prasad Rao who arrived on time had to wait along with the farmers thereby getting a dose of his Part men’s efficiency first-hand. This is the kind of response from the government on such an important issue.
They just don’t care!
