Cabinet expansion triggers unrest in TRS

The Cabinet expansion undertaken by Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao on Tuesday has started causing rumblings and heartburn among some party members who had missed the bus.

For example, the induction of tribal legislator Ajmera Chandulal from Warangal into the Cabinet caused much heartburn to another tribal woman legislator Kova Lakshmi. However KCR tried to soothe her ruffled feelings by offering her the pot of Parliamentary Secretary.

As a matter of fact the Chief Minister took everyone by surprise by not inducting a woman in the cabinet. This made one of the strong aspirants Konda Surekha sulking.

Konda Surekha and Koppula Easwar, both aspirants for a berth in the cabinet and failed to make it were conspicuous by their absence at the swearing in ceremony thus bringing to the fore the rumblings in the party over denial of berths to some aspirants especially those who have been in TRS from the beginning.

The rumblings gathered momentum especially after KCR provided berths to defectors from TDP like Tummala Nageswara Rao and Talasani Srinivas Yadav.

Though Koppula Easwar has been made the chief whip, he was not satisfied and has been sulking for denying a berth in the cabinet.

Being aware of the heartburn among his party leaders for denial of ministerial posts, KCR seemed to be planning to fill up the nominated posts as soon as possible.
