BJP's Changing Tone Towards TDP

BJP's Changing Tone Towards TDP

Hyderabad: It is now common knowledge that the TDP and BJP had a strategic alliance prior to the polls. But right now, the tone of BJP as regards TDP changed.

Some time back it was Somu Veerraju, yesterday it was Muralidhara Rao and later it was Kanna Lakshmi Narayana… all of them have been making comments targeting TDP.

The BJP is miffed with TDP for trying to project BJP as the culprit in bifurcation and the developments there after in Andhra Pradesh. And the BJP leaders are now vehemently condemning the TDP leaders for blaming them for land procurement following bifurcation and delay in conferring special status on Andhra Pradesh.

Earlier, BJP national general secretary Muralidhara Rao had commented that TDP must procure lands only after getting voluntary consent from the farmers. He had also made it clear that his party was not happy with the way TDP was going about land procurement.

Muralidhara Rao had reiterated in Chennai that the best way was to get the farmers to voluntarily give up their lands.

In a latest move, senior BJP leader Kanna Lakshmi Narayana lost his cool over Chandra Babu. He questioned if Babu had bothered to fulfill even one promise that he made prior to or after the polls. Kanna also blamed TDP for carrying out bad publicity against BJP.

If he loved the state so much, why didn’t he ask for special status to be included in bifurcation law, questioned Kanna. In Kakinada for a party meeting, Kanna demanded to know if Babu had fulfilled all the promises made during his nine-year long rule.

Kanna also maintained that they never promised to give any special status to AP and reminded Babu that it was the UPA government that made the promise.

Meanwhile, MLC Somu Veerraju made it clear that the BJP will not sit quietly if TDP takes away the land from farmers by force.
