BJP Will Meet Cong Fate, Warns Pawan

Hitherto, Power Star-cum-political leader Pawan Kalyan was considered to be an ally of the Bharatiya Janata Party and particularly, a confidant of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Though he expressed dissatisfaction over the neglect of Andhra Pradesh by the Centre, he never made any adverse remarks against BJP.

However, with the Centre rejecting the Special category status to Andhra Pradesh in its statement in Parliament on Friday, Pawan was forced to react against the BJP government. Though he did not address any press conferences, he expressed his views through twitter.

“Two years ago, the Congress party had done a grave mistake by getting the Seemandhra MPs bashed up and forcing them out of Parliament and dividing the united Andhra Pradesh. Nobody has forgotten the humiliation meted out to the Seemandhra people then and they will never fort. Now, I sincerely wish the BJP does not repeat the same mistake of betraying the Seemandhra people by going back on its promise of special category status to Andhra Pradesh,” he tweeted.

He said he was appealing to the ruling party MPs to fight for the special category status to AP with the support of the Opposition parties in Parliament, before the Seemandhra people take to streets and intensify the agitation.

The tone and tenor of Pawan’s tweets is strong, though he did not directly attack the BJP. But, he definitely sounded a word of caution to the BJP that it would meet the same fate of the Congress party, if it did not fulfil its promise.
