BJP Spikes Chandra Babu Naidu's Enthusiasm

The way BJP has snubbed the aspirations of Chandra Babu Naidu makes for an interesting observation. Instead of opposing the Congress which was indulging in undemocratic activities, the BJP had actually supported it, regretted Babu recently.

After drawing flak for submitting a letter to the Congress High Command regarding Telangana, Babu has now changed his stance and is making statements supporting Seemandhra aspirations.

According to his original plan, Babu wanted to garner support from the BJP to stall the T Bill in the Parliament and in turn hoped to gain mileage in Seemandhra politics.

To this end, he also met up with top BJP leaders and held parleys with them. He also met BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi twice.

From his end, Babu did not spare any efforts to showoff his growing proximity to the BJP leaders and tried to project that he was striving hard to stop bifurcation.

However, due to various developments, he could not say it in so many words publicly as he did not want to lose his base in the Telangana region.

But in a grave setback to his plans, BJP leader Sushma Swaraj extended total support to the T Bill and doused Chandra Babu Naidu’s plans.

Naturally, apart from losing out on the mileage in Seemandhra, Babu is now in a fix about seeking an alliance with the BJP during the forthcoming elections. He has categorically refrained from talking about poll alliances, during his recent interviews.

If the BJP makes a major impact in the Rajya Sabha, then Babu can tag along with the Saffron party. However, for now, looks like BJP has severely disappointed Chandra Babu and snubbed his electoral plans.
