BJP Petitions 'Ambedkar' Against KCR!

The Bharatiya Janata Party on Saturday adopted a novel method to demand the State Government to convene the session of Telangana State Legislative Assembly.

BJP floor leader Dr K Laxman handed over a letter addressed to Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao to the statue of Dr BR Ambedkar at Tank Bund.

"The State of Telangana has been facing serious problems which warrant immediate intervention of the government issues like power crisis, farmer debt waiver, fee reimbursement of the SC, ST, BC, EBC, Minority students', viral fevers, the agitation of the unemployed youth, constitution of TPSC, notification of jobs, etc., to be discussed immediately. In our day to day interaction with people and in our tour to the districts, we have been receiving several representations from the people expressing their woes," he said in his letter.

"In a democratic polity, it is the responsibility of the legislature to address these issues and find solutions. However, the government is being nonchalant in not merely addressing the issues but even in convening the Assembly which is its constitutional responsibility. Further, you are aware, the validity of Vote on Account which is an interim arrangement will be over. Therefore, it is mandatory for the legislature to take appropriate measures to ensure validity for the expenditure of the government which include the salaries of the employees and other welfare schemes," said the BJP leader.

Dr Lakshman said that the he was "pleading the Chief Minister through the father of the Indian constitution Dr BR Ambedkar to convene the Assembly budget session immediately."
