Bihar is gearing up for a fierce electoral battle between the BJP and the Janata Dal (United) led by Nitish Kumar. Then there are Jitan Ram Manjhi and Lalu Prasad Yadav whose support could turn out to be crucial for either Party.
Against this backdrop, BJP Central Minister, Nitin Gadkari announced that Rs 50,000 crore worth of works would be taken up in the transport sector in Bihar.
Now that is indeed a massive investment and a huge promise coming on the eve of elections. But going by the experience of AP, there is absolutely no guarantee that Bihar will see this promised amount.
Even if the BJP includes this aspect in their election manifesto and fails to deliver tomorrow, there is nothing the people of Bihar can do. For that is what happened with the people of AP over the ‘special status’ issue.
