Ever since Ganta Srinivasa Rao joined the TDP and was made Minister, there has been a power struggle between him and another TDP Minister Ayyanna Patrudu.
Repeated attempts by the Chief Minister to chalk out a compromise between the two warring Ministers, have been in vain.
Against this backdrop, analysts say that the induction of Kala Venkat Rao into the State cabinet in the place of Kimidi Mrinalini is a huge plus for the Ayyanna camp.
Kala Venkat Rao will tilt the balance of power politics in the north coastal region in favor of the Ayyanna camp that has been comprehensively sidelined by the ever-increasing power of Ganta Srinivasa Rao.
And recently, Chandrababu Naidu is believed to have expressed his anger at Ganta for the way in which the latter handled the SSC exam paper leak leading to a full scale assault from the YSRCP in the Assembly.
Whatever be the equations, the Ganta-Ayyanna rift will surely work to the detriment of the TDP in 2019 provided the Opposition is smart enough to capitalize on it and come up with a viable alternative.
