Behind The Scene: A Sigh Of Relief

The government of Andhra Pradesh must be highly disappointed at the report of the ACB in Hyderabad.

The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has charged Arshad Ayub, the president of Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA), its former president G Vinod and seven other office-bearers of misusing public money to the tune of more than Rs 4 crore and urged a trial court to try and punish them.

Apparently, the Andhra Pradesh government which got notice of this case had asked the ACB through unofficial sources to examine any corruption in leasing out the western stand of the Uppal cricket stadium for commercial branding purposes to Bharati Cements owned by YS Jagan.

The ACB officials, however, gave a clean chit to the HCA officials saying that Bharati Cements got this space on lease for 25 years at a rent of 2.5 crore rupees.

This must be a huge disappointment for the AP government but a huge sigh of relief for the Jagan batch.
