Balineni Looking Towards TDP?

Balineni Looking Towards TDP?

As part of the ongoing defection spree, it is now said to be the turn of former minister Balineni Srinivas Reddy from Prakasam district to join the Telugu Desam Party dumping the YSR Congress party sooner or later.

Balineni, who is a close relative of YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, has been staying away from the party activities for quite some, ever since he was denied the MLC seat by the party leadership.

Jagan has completely sidelined Balineni for reasons known only to him and gave the MLC seat to Pilli Subhash Chandra Bose. Apparently, Jagan’s uncle Y V Subba Reddy has been playing a key role in keeping Balineni at bay in Prakasam district policies.

Under these circumstances, the TDP leadership is learnt to have contacted Balineni through a media house owner, who had convinced him to join the TDP.

It is learnt TDP president Chandrababu Naidu had offered MLC seat to Balineni to appease him. Along with Balineni, four YSR Congress party MLAs would also join the TDP. They are: Gottipati Ravi Kumar (Addanki), Ashok Reddy (Giddalur), Rama Rao (Kandukuru) and Suresh (Santhanuthalapadu). If it happens, it will definitely be a big jolt to Jagan, say sources.
