Senior actor and Telugu Desam Party legislator from Hindupur in Anantapur district Nandamuri Balakrishna appears to be systematically moving his pawns to grow as a powerful force within the party by next elections.
This is evident from the way Balakrishna is evincing a lot of interest in nurturing his constituency. Apart from making it a point to tour his constituency on a regular basis, he has chosen to make full use of the forthcoming Lepakshi festival to display his leadership qualities. The festival will be held at Hindupur on February 27 and 28.
Though the festival is being officially organised by the AP government, Balayya has taken it up on his shoulders.
Right from designing the invitation card to distribution of the same to all the VIPs, Balakrishna is taking personal interest.
He met all the top leaders across the two Telugu States, besides in Delhi and invited them to the festival. He is moving closely with all the leaders and cadre of the TDP, taking care of the arrangements.
May be, it will be a stepping stone for Balakrishna to climb up the ladder in the party, in the wake of growing discontent among the party cadre towards Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and the way the latter is promoting his son Lokesh.
Who knows there could be another coup within the TDP sooner or later?
