Two MPs who have been vying to get the Olympic post have been given an earful by AP CM Chandra Babu, say party sources.
Apparently, Babu called TDP MPs Jayadev and CM Ramesh to New Delhi and told them so without mincing words.
So, once back, both the leaders have maintained that they no longer want to contest for the post and would like to give it to another able candidate from within the party.
Talk within TDP is that since both the above-mentioned leaders were running their own Olympic groups and since both of them have been claiming that their group was the original group, Babu had decided to come up with this practical solution.
After after listening to both the sides, Babu is said to have conveyed to them that since MPs have additional responsibilities in Delhi, it would be best if the post is given to another candidate.
But those who witnessed the drama say the ultimate tailpiece was Jayadev and CM Ramesh exiting the venue in the same car.
Now, it remains to be seen if they will reach a compromise or if they will let the post go to a third candidate.
