Babu's Act of Onemanship Boomerangs

Khambhampati Ram Mohan Rao and CM Ramesh took off to Japan to participate in the Indo-Japan Global Partnership Summit and the Two Nations One Goal Conclave that was held at Hotel Okura in Tokyo.

Though the TDP representatives tried their level best to be part of Modi’s entourage, Prime Minister put his foot down firmly and they were left with no option but to fly into Japan on their own expenses.

Incidentally, Khambhampati planned to meet Modi and appease him while in Japan, but CM Ramesh insisted that he wanted to accompany him.

Once there, they managed to be a part of the Indian delegation at the Meet. Modi is said to have been mildly irritated at seeing them out of the blue and is said to have made it clear in no simple terms that he did not like seeing them there. It is said that both Khambhampati and Ramesh were caught off guard and did not know how to respond.

While there, Khambhampati and CM Ramesh held parleys with the Deepa Gopalan, the Indian Ambassador to Japan. They also met up with many businessmen and Japanese government officials to promote Andhra Pradesh as a ‘Sun Rise’ state.

Incidentally, Chandra Babu will be going on an official trip to Japan soon to seek investments in the newly emerged state. However, Modi’s trip has gained more prominence given the importance of the bilateral summit.
