Taking strong objection to the deployment of AP police personnel in Hyderabad, Telangana DGP Anurag Sharma warned that he would withdraw political protection to all political leaders of Andhra Pradesh.
Sharma also called on Governor ESL Narasimhan and complained against the presence of AP police in the city saying that providing security to people’s representatives and maintaining law and order in Hyderabad was the responsibility of only the Telangana police.
If the Telangana DGP wants to withdraw protection to AP leaders, he is more than welcome. AP Police will provide protection.
When a city is the common capital for two states for a certain period then how can one state only be entrusted with jurisdiction over law and order?
How can justice be expected for Seemandhra people by Telangana police in Hyderabad, especially after such a vitriolic bifurcation?

AP is absolutely justified in having its own police contingent and all constituional avenues should be explored to set up some exclusive police stations of AP in Hyderabad for its people.
