AP Capital Ruled Out In Rayalaseema

Even before the Centre has taken any decision on the location of new capital for the Andhra Pradesh State, the ruling Telugu Desam Party leaders have started talking about locating the same in Coastal Andhra, rather than Rayalaseema.

Telugu Desam party MP JC Diwakar Reddy on Saturday said AP State capital would not be located in Rayalaseema region, forget about his own Anantapur district. Several industrial units would be set up in Anantapur district with the cooperation of the Union government, but not the capital.

He said expeditious development of Andhra Pradesh would be possible alone with the blessings of Union Urban Development Minister M. Venkaiah Naidu.

Guntur MP Galla Jayadev said no decision was taken yet where to set up the Andhra Pradesh capital so far. He also said budget was also not finalized for construction of AP capital.
