Another 'Kingfisher' In The Making!

Beginning with Monday, Spice Jet has cancelled 1800 flights for the month of December.

The airline owned by Kalanithi Maran-led ‘Sun Group’ is facing a severe financial crunch and is already in trouble with the Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) for owing more than Rs 200 crore in dues to airport operators across the country.

DGCA has also asked Spice Jet to stop taking bookings, a month in advance.

Civil Aviation Minister Ashok Gajapathi Raju recently commented that ‘Spice Jet’ was giving his ‘Ministry’ heart-attacks.

Judging by the way things are progressing and considering the bleak potential of the airline industry, ‘Spice Jet’ definitely seems destined to go the ‘Kingfisher’ route!

Wonder whether Ashok Gajapathi Raju can do something about it!
