Another Hurdle For Hyderabad Metro

Another Hurdle For Hyderabad Metro

Already the issue regarding laying of Metro Rail tracks in front of Assembly buildings is in doldrums, now a new issue has popped up for the government.

Metro’s second line has been planned between Darul Shifa and Falaknuma. But now, the Majlis party is objecting to the route.

They argue that a lot of people will be dislocated if the line is laid and this will not be in the interests of people they say.

Another point raised by them is that there are at least 10 mosques, 6 dargahs and various religious places en route.

However, they have an alternate plan and they say that it would be best if the government considered laying tracks bordering Musi river.

Meanwhile, Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi has said that they are not against development and Metro project. But the opinions of people who will lose their homes must be taken, he says.

He also expressed a similar opinion to Majlis that it would be best if the route is shifted towards Musi.

Both parties have already held talks with CM KCR regarding the matter. It remains to be seen how Metro Rail will deal with this new hurdle.
