Andhra Police Deny Theft Charges

The Andhra Pradesh Police on Wednesday denied the reports of theft and looting from the old SIB building.

A spokesman of AP Police department said the old SIB building was allotted to the Andhra Pradesh Police Department by the Governor at the time of division of the office buildings between Governments of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

However, on the request of the Telangana Government that this building was required for use by them, the AP Police vacated the building and handed it over.

"The officers and men functioning from this building had to be relocated to an old, dilapidated, unused and vacant building, which is under repair. All the items necessary for relocation of the office were shifted to the alternative premises and the fact was also intimated to the senior officers of Telangana Police Department. The allegation of looting and theft from the old SIB building premises is, therefore, baseless and is factually incorrect," the spokesman said.
