Andhra: Just Business With Singapore

Some time back, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandra Babu Naidu had announced that Andhra Pradesh will soon be doing business and earning the requisite revenues to run the state.

Taking a step further on this front, the state of Andhra Pradesh is all set to get investments from Singapore.

To begin with, the state will form the Amaravathi Development Corporation. The same will be joint partners with Singapore.

Of the land procured from farmers, Andhra Pradesh government will set aside few acres for farmers and that will leave 15,000 acres with the government. Of this, 3000 acres will be given to Singapore which will then set up businesses in the new capital.

However, it is not clear if the secretariat, high court, Raj Bhavan, quarters for ministers and officers will also be accommodated in this land.

At least, this is the plan according to a story that has appeared in an English daily.
