Chandrababu Naidu has decided to hold the 'bhoomi pooja' and other formalities for the new capital on June 1.
The event is likely to be an extravaganza with Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with Chief Ministers of neighboring States likely to be in attendance.
The announcement is expected on March 21 (Ugadi). For this purpose Naidu has advanced his Singapore trip to the final week of March so that he can approve the master plan of Singapore.
Political sources say the reason why Naidu is keen on June 1 is that he wants to have the new capital launched ahead of the anniversary of the ‘Telangana Formation Day’ which is June 2.
And he has planned a spectacle to not only prove a point to KCR, but also because he feels that the grander the launch, the more number of large scale investments that will come the way of Andhra Pradesh.
