Following a meeting of Chandra Babu Naidu with some American delegates, rumours were rife that an American Consulate would soon be started in Vijayawada.
So, the pro TDP media got active immediately and started pumping in stories which said that since all this was due to the initiative and drive of our CM Chandra Babu Naidu.
Instead of looking at the feasibility of setting up the Consulate in Vijayawada, they gave stories which read like official statements instead.
However, once the Hyderabad Consulate issued a statement denying any such thoughts, the stories fell flat.
Right now, Vijayawada does not have world-class airport. It is not yet on par with Hyderabad in terms of infrastructural facilities. Naturally, the Consulate would take all these factors into consideration before setting up its office here.
On the other hand, Vizag has all such facilities. Yet, there is no guarantee that the Consulate would be set up in Vizag.
Meanwhile, the people of 13 districts of Andhra Pradesh are being frequently disappointed as Chandra Babu is doing little to develop the capital city and instead showing off his craze for everything foreign.
