As part of the strategy, the party has decided to step up agitation for achieving separate railway zone for Visakhapatnam, so as to gain the support of the people in the north coastal Andhra Pradesh.

On Saturday, the YSR Congress party announced that it would organise a pada yatra from Anakapalle to Bhimili.

According to former minister and senior party leader Botsa Satyanarayana, the party has given a deadline of March 9 for the Central and the State Government to make an annnouncement on the issue failing which the padayatra would be undertaken.

He said party district president Gudivada Amarnath will lead the protest padayatra, which will span 250 km. Botsa slammed both the Centre and the State Governments for ignoring the sentiments and aspirations of the people of Andhra Pradesh.

He criticised Chandrababu for celebrating even when nothing was given to the state in the annual Union Budget. He said the TDP leaders were making money through land-pooling.
