Advertising Doesn't Result In Electoral Success!

If one were to go by the reports of ‘returns’ on advertisement spending in the 'Print Media', then its bad news for the medium if the recent Delhi polls are taken as the benchmark.

Below is the breakup of the number of advertisements given by the three Parties in the Print Media during the election.

As one can see, BJP literally splurged on its campaign and compared to it, AAP and Congress are nowhere in sight. BJP that gave 121 advertisements won just three seats whereas AAP which did not give a single advertisement won a whopping 67 seats.

Advertising might work when it comes to consumer products, however people do not go by it when it comes to electing a responsible government.

AAP had great people connect at the grassroots level and Kejriwal had been doing the ground work for a long time. BJP on the other hand suffered badly with its last minute foisting of Kiran Bedi on the Party.
