A Madman To The Core

A Madman To The Core

Arvind Kejriwal's recent call for a referendum on full statehood to Delhi has serious implications for the unity of the country.

The problem is that Arvind feels scuttled with the majority of administrative powers of Delhi being with the Lieutenant Governor or the Union Ministry. They are coming in the way of his enjoying power fully and satisfactorily.

If Kejriwal has a problem with the system he should take legal recourse to it in his capacity as a Chief Minister. By calling for a referendum, he is setting a dangerous precedent.

Tomorrow, Punjab, Kashmir and Tamil Nadu might call for a referendum on separate nationhood. And why go that far?

Remember TRS MP Kavitha’s statements on how Telangana and Kashmir were separate nations until they were annexed by India and how their problems according to her started from then.

Remember TRS MP Vinod saying in a TV Channel discussion at the peak of the T-agitation, “We are not Indians!” Hence, Kejriwal should be thwarted from charting out his mad course which will result in destabilizing this nation of ours.
