The open revolt by BJP MLA Raja Singh, for the first time posed a serious threat to the hegemony of Kishan Reddy in the BJP in Telangana.
The BJP High Command has chosen to ignore Raja Singh and persist with the leadership of Kishen Reddy. With his term set to expire soon, the upcoming GHMC elections are an acid test for him.
The momentum is very much with the TRS and it wouldn’t come as a surprise to see them sweep the elections.
But if the BJP can put up a decent performance in the polls, then there is no doubt that Kishan Reddy’s ‘hawa’ in the Telangana BJP will continue as usual.
On the contrary, an adverse result might mark some serious changes in the top leadership.
