Telangana Minister for Commercial Taxes Talasani Srinivasa Yadav, who considers himself as a monarch of Hyderabad and Secunderabad, has come under sharp criticism from the people for wasting precious water for his Holi festivities.
According to reports, Talasani had ordered mobilisation of as many as 30 water tankers – from Hyderabad Metro Water Supply and Sewerage Board and private persons – for his Holi revelry.
Talasani celebrates Holi in a big way every year along with his friends, relatives and party workers, but nobody has ever noticed how he used to waste water.
But this time, the entire city is facing acute drinking water and ground water crisis and in many parts of the city, Holi was celebrated on a low key.
In these circumstances, Talasani’s brazen act of wasting water from 30 water tankers was not taken kindly by the citizens. But since he is now in the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi, it will definitely become a big issue.
The Opposition parties are gearing up to raise this issue in the Assembly on Monday.
