RGV is back and yet again he chose the forte of his interest, dark thriller. This time he has attempted to look into the life of a psycho. Let us see how this is

Story
Meera (Nisha) is a middle class working girl who is supporting her family. She is quite career oriented and her life revolves around work. A chance meeting with a stranger happens in a bus. He introduces himself as Nikhil (Raj Shroff). At first, things go casually but gradually Nikhil’s behavior starts choking Meera. At one point, Nikhil begins to create a fear factor in Meera’s life and she takes the help of her colleague Shekar (Nakul). This unleashes the havoc and what happens from there forms the rest of the story.

Performances
Nisha Kothari who has always been perceived as a sexy doll has shown a different side in her. She is cute, expressive and emoted well. Of course, her seductive charm cannot be ignored.

Raj Shroff scores the brownie points in most of the sequences. His mild demeanor with a streak of craziness and violent temperament was displayed well.

Nakul Vaid was good, Vijay Kashyap was alright, Milind Gunaji was not used properly. Others didn’t have much to offer.

Highlights:

  • Performances
  • First half
  • Background score

Drawbacks:

  • Climax
  • Visually strenuous

Analysis:
It has become more like a norm that when a film comes from the house of Ram Gopal Varma, the expectations are high and perception of something different on the plate is there. But in this film, more than the RGV factor it is the subject he chose which needs to be looked at. The recent spate of violent incidents on women and stalking seems to be the essence of this film.

On the good side, the intensity and the fear factor was kept to a large extent. This was strengthened with some decent performances from the cast.

There are few scenes where one can connect themselves and relate their nature. But the hiccup comes in the form of the technology otherwise named as the Rogue Methodology. It may be a cost effective solution but ultimately if the audience is unable to view the film without having bouts of headache it is indeed an issue.

The visual strain is quite high due to the spinning and crazy angles of the camera. The film takes off on a good note and carries a good pace thanks to crisp editing and short duration. The second half got a little dramatic and the climax was quite stale barring the final moment twist.

Overall, this is a film which has its share of tense moments but it had the material to pull off a stunner.

Bottomline: Dark and gritty
