The element of doing something wrong for the good of people has been a common formula since the time of Robinhood. What happens when a girl does not want to meet her lover and her prospective fiancé super-cop wants to locate a thief? All this and more forms the part of ‘Kick’ so let us see how good it gets.
Story
Set in the backdrop of Malaysia, Naina (Ileana) gets alliance of Kalyan Krishna (Shaam) from India. He is a cop who comes to Malaysia, meets Naina and she tells him her flashback about her boyfriend Kalyan (Ravi Teja).
Both of them get separated due to a small scuffle and meanwhile, Kalyan Krishna comes to Malaysia with the idea of finding a thief there. This thief has been stealing a lot of money and is escaping. Does Kalyan Krishna manage to catch the thief?

Performance
Ravi Teja was his energetic best and gave a good performance, Ileana was drop dead beautiful and she has really shown her oomph.
Brahmanandam was neat, Shaam looked competent and he has charming looks, Ashika can work on her figure a bit. The others like Chalapthi Rao, Banerjee, Prabha etc did their bit and contributed to the film.
The director has come up with a storyline that could have been stitched more tightly and though the presentation part was fine, the narrative could have been better. The dialogues were written neatly and they were fair, script was written without any hitches and screenplay was executed.
The background score was neat and songs like ‘ I Don’t Want Love…’ ‘Manase Thadisela…’’ are something worth humming and can be taken home. Cinematography was neat and it captured the foreign locales in a good manner, stunts were good at few places. Costumes were trendy and art department was apt.

Analysis:
The film flashes Arjun’s ‘Gentleman’ in the spirit. But this is dealt with more humor that suits the contemporary audiences. While Arjun’s role is replicated here with Ravi Teja, Charan Raj’s role is seen in new face Shyam who played cop.
The take off and first half of the movie are impressive. Although the tempo was lost especially in the beginning of second half, again it regained as action episodes enter the screen. Brahmanandam’s Halwa Raj episode keeps entertaining like that of his role in Krishna.
Songs are catchy for eyes but the orchestration dominated lyrics in many instances. Indeed, there are some haunting tunes from a couple of songs.
Ravi Teja’s energy is all pervaded in the movie and that’s the big saving grace for this flick to keep mass audiences glue on to their seats till the last.
As there are no big competitors for this film in coming few weeks, chances are bright for it to win at box office. But the budget incurred on the film is mammoth and it may be hard to meet that mark.
