The film starts with reference to 'Id' or Animal Instincts in every human being. The ultimate essence of the film is 'Unless and until the animal instincts are suppressed in human beings, society cannot move ahead'.

Story

The story begins with the factor how a young boy develops attraction for violence, revenge and goondas since his childhood. Srinu (Ram) is the guy who tends towards fighting spirit and violence. He grows up and joins in the gang of a villain named Manikyam (Pradeep Rawat). Manikyam's right hand (AS Ravi Kumar Choudar) fears about the dominating nature of Srinu. As expected by Manikyam's Right Hand, Srinu slowly develops and improves his hold on dark business. The film 'M Dharma Raju MA' flashes on mind screen here.

Subbu (Isha), is the girl who falls in Srinu's love (no one knows why she gets attracted to him. One has to understand that she has to love the hero as she is heroine. Her character is not justified well).

A dispute arises between Srinu and Manikyam and that results in a fight between the two. Finally, what happens has to be seen on screen! The consequences those are to be faced for stepping into the viscous circle of violence and crime are shown till the climax of the film. The young lad, who is the younger brother of Srinu, gets killed before the climax making the eyes of Srinu open. Rest has to be watched on screen at culminating climax.

Performances

Artistes:

  • Ram did really well with a lot of authority on expressions, dance and body language. But his physique is not in tune with the roughness required for the role. His dialogues are also lacking in clarity. He has to do separate exercise on diction part.
  • Isha is not so good in features and her glamour show is also not much impressive. She can be easily forgettable with the role she played in it.
  • Pradeep Rawat and AS Ravi Kumar Chowdary performed well as gangsters. Tanikella Bharani's guest role is ok. Prakash Raj's appearance in the role of ACP is also laudable. Raghubabu and Saranya played the roles of Parents to Ram. Monalisa and Madhushalini (only for a few seconds) appeared in the item song '36 24 36…' and spilled glamour on screen.
  • Music by Devisriprasad is really imposing and high score can be given to him among the technicians worked for the film.
  • Sukumar worked well with tight packed screenplay. Audiences hardly be aware of time till the interval. It would have been finer had he worked on second half with more care.

Loopholes:

  • Why hero wants to become goonda? The answer is shown! That's because he develops craze and passion on Goondagiri looking at Bottu Manickyam since his childhood. He feels great knowing about Bottu Manickyam's background of murders. But the hero never tries to adopt that track record of murders. He never inclines to kill anyone despite he batters blue and black. He even cries in the climax for killing a hardcore criminal accidentally. There appears some loophole in the characterization of hero.
  • Who are the parents of heroine? What is her background? Why such class looking rich girl runs behind our hero, who is a goonda? Question remains a question till the end.
  • One of the dialogues of Prakash Raj, the police commissioner conveys that violence can be fashion but not life ambition. Is it not ambiguous and beneath contempt?

Dialogues:

There are a few interesting dialogues in the film which trigger laughs and attention:

Ram: "Eduti Vaadi Kallallo Bhayam Choosthey Chaalu- Naaku Dhairyam Vachchesthundi"

Ram (after a fight in a cafe) : College lo kodithey TC Ichchaaru. Ikkada Kodithey Tea, Cigarette isthunnaru"

Narsing Yadav: "Nenu Asale Strict Police Officer ni. Dabbulu Theesukuna kooda vadilipedathaani guarantee ledhu".

Analysis:

First half of the film runs interesting. Interval is really an 'Interruption' (the word is shown on screen during Interval to break monotony). But the second half is feeble when compared to first half. Climax sounds boring for a few seconds.

The motive of the film is to say that 'Violence can be a fashion-but not life". It says that there many young guys who are leading lives in violence and they have to come out from that vicious circle as early as possible.

Director Sukumar, being a Mathematics Lecturer, explained that through the character of Police Commissioner Prakash Raj with a map on white board.

He says, "Murder, Gang, Money and Danda (dark business) are points in a circle".

He explains further saying, "To do murder one needs Gang, to maintain gang one needs money, to get money one needs to do Danda and to do Danda again one needs to do murder. This is the plight of dark business".

So, the message is to come out from the cruel circle where it may claim the lives of friends, relatives and family members as well.

Bottom Line: Go and Watch
