Reel Retrospection: Successful Top Directors of the Year 2005
Many directors have tried to win the applause of audiences with their creativity. Some could achieve that and many failed to grab the same. However, five top successful directors are listed in this year. Out of the five, two turned directors from their main portfolios. While Prabhudeva is a choreographer turned director, Trivikram is a writer turned director. Trisha turned lady luck for two of the top five directors.
Prabhudeva:
He banged the Tollywood with his invincible direction skill this year. MS Raju’s ‘Nuvvostaanante Nenoddantaana’ was directed by Prabhudeva. The film created sensation in this year at all the centers in India and abroad. Trisha and Siddharth played the lead role in the film and the Prabhudeva mark direction is felt on the screen. The choreographer turned director won enough applause from the audiences of all classes.
Surendra Reddy:
This technocrat director has shown his trendy craft with his venture ‘Athanokkadey’. Kalyan Ram played the lead role in the film on his own banner and that brought him star image in Tollywood. The film blended all the elements in a right mix making it a successful film. The director won major credit with this film and lined up with a few interesting offers from big banners this year.
Trivikram Sreenivas:
This dialogue writer turned director showed his dexterity in handling an action thriller effectively. Earlier he directed the film ‘Nuvve Nuvve’ that proved to be a blend of sentiment and comedy. But with the film ‘Athadu’ he won applauses of audiences at home and abroad. Mahesh Babu and Trisha played lead roles in the film.
Boyapati Srinivas:
He made the film ‘Bhadra’ with Ravi Teja and Meera Jamine in lead roles and proved successful in handling efficiently. Ravi Teja’s character secured a gripping control on the screen as it was carved with enough attention to detail. The film ran successfully bringing in applauses to the director.
SS Raja Mouli:
He is the invincible director who never tasted failure till now. He directed the films like 'Simhadri', 'Sye', 'Student Number One' and 'Chatrapathi'. However, he didn't title the film Chatrapathi with his sentimental letter 'S'. Still he has seen success with it. He gave a break to Prabhas who is suffering from flops from quite some time. Even Shriya erased her iron leg image with the success of this film. He is one of the promising directors in this year.
