Telugu Reel-2005: Best Top 10 Films of the Year

The following films are considered to be the best of 2005 in the view perspective of audiences’ reception and business they made. The essence of the films, conveyed messages and the other factors of social responsibility are not considered in preparing this list that made after thorough examining. December releases not included in this list becuase trade report is yet to come.

Nuvvostaanante Nenoddantaana: 4.5/5
The film banged the box office drum with incredible collections. Veeru Potla’s story that was well chiseled as a drama by director Prabhu Deva brought out a new success definition. Sree Hari’s character added spice to the film where Siddharth and Trisha played the main leads. This venture proved to be triumphant under the able production of MS Raju with keen attention to detail. The film ruled the theatres with greatest flow audiences of all classes in all centers.

Aparichithudu: 3.5/5
This is another film in this year that shook the box office tumultuously. Implausible applause from all classes of audiences and very positive word of mouth brought immense audience flow for the film. Vikram proved his invincible caliber and talent by performing three roles in a schizophrenia mode. Sada paired up with him and that turned her fate as a star actress in Shankar’s direction. Harris Jayaraj’s music rocked the chart busters.

Chandramukhi: 3.5/5
Although a fantasy, it does weave around illusion. Rajni Kanth’s performance added enough mass appeal to the film where the wide eyes of Jothika were aptly used by the director for projecting ghastly feel on screen. Nayanatara turned a renowned star in South India with this film. The film received the applause from all classes of audiences and it conquered the box office slowly and steadily. It spelt a new definition for success despite a fantasy based flick.

Ghazni: 4/5
The film rocked the Tollwood box office on par with other dubbing films Chandramukhi and Aparichithudu. Asin, theheroine of the film tops in the histrionic line. Suriya too projects well the role of a mentally disturbed man and the scenes of avenging the harm done to him are well filmed. The director shows his grip on every scene and the taking is packed with fantastic details. The film didn’t lose the audiences even the third month of its release is about to complete.



Athanokkadey: 3.5/5
The film was made on the banner of NTR Arts by Nandamuri Janaki Ram. Surender, the young director took the captaincy of the film making it a trendy flick to watch. The trick of technology played by him was worked well bringing in more luck for the film. The film ran well in all the centers with impressive collections. The film brought break to the hero Kalyan Ram. Sindhu Tolani paired up with him in the film.

Athadu: 3.25/5
The film was made on the banner of ‘Sri Jayabheri Arts’ in the direction of Trivikram Sreenivas. It’s second film in the list of Trivikram as director after ‘Nuvve Nuvve’. Although known for nonstop humor, Trivikram turned successful in handling the action oriented subject like ‘Athadu’. Mahesh Babu played balanced in the film with more poise and bearing. The film banged the box office in all the centers at home and abroad. Trisha paired up with Mahesh Babu where Sonu Sood played the opposite role.

Chatrapathi: 4/5
The film turned oxygen for Prabhas who was suffering form a few failures. SS Rajamouli’s direction and MM Keeravani’s music increased the life span of the film. Shriya paired up with Prabhas and it’s made on the banner of Venkateswara Cine Chitra. Mother sentiment rules the film and Bhanupriya played her role appropriately.

Premisthey: 4/5
This low budget Tamil film that dubbed into Telugu by Suresh Kondeti brought immense flow of audiences in all the centers. It proved to be the best low budget film that brought high return on investment (ROI). Sandhya and Bharath, the teenage pair coupled for the film gaining their own applause among the audiences and film circles.

Bhadra: 2.75/5
Ravi Teja and Meera Jasmine paired up in the last summer giving out the best of their performance in the production of ‘Dil Raju. The filmw as made on the banner of Sree Venkateswara Creations. Boyapati Sreenivas directed the film and it faired well in almost all the centers.

Sankranthi: 3.75/5
This film won the hearts of Telugu family audiences at home and abroad. The film was made on the banner of ‘Super Good Films’ with Venkatesh, Sneha, Arthi Agarwal, Sangeetha and Sreekanth in main leads. Linguswamy’s story was well carved as a celluloid theme in the able direction of Muppalaneni Siva. The dialogues of Paruchuri Brothers touched the heart strings of audiences. Family sentiments, small pleasures, bitter sweet incidents and human values are blended with ethics and morals that turn out be a wonderful recipe. ‘Sankranthi’ conveyed same message of living-together, indeed.
