Top 5: The King Baahubali Steps Down

1) Keshava: Nikhil’s crime thriller Keshava opened number one at the box office in its first weekend.

Keshava is the first film to takeover Baahubali 2 collections after the latter dominated the show for three weeks.

Keshava opened to mixed reviews but the pre release buzz and curiosity around it helped it to post good numbers in its first weekend.

Range of the film will be decided according to its performance in week days.

2) Baahubali 2: After retaining number one spot for three whole weeks, Baahubali 2 has finally stepped down and made way for new releases. Though it has slowed down, Baahubali’s collections over the weekend were pretty impressive.

Trade is betting on whether it crosses the Rs. 200 crore share mark in Telugu states by the end of its theatrical run or not.

3) Radha: Sharwanand’s commercial entertainer Radha had a fairly decent first weekend, but it is all downhill from that point. There is hardly any growth during its second weekend. It may end up as an average grosser given the costs involved.

Looks like film lovers haven’t welcomed the talented actor’s first attempt at commercial cinema.

4) Half Girlfriend: Like Keshava in Telugu states, Half Girlfriend took over the number one spot from Baahubali in the Northern circuit. Buzz around the film is huge given the popularity of its source material.

Although the reviews are largely average, Half Girlfriend managed to put up good numbers in its first weekend.

5) Venkatapuram: Venkatapuram is still running in limited screens, but its limited appeal and less number of screens is not allowing the film to rise to the next level.

Its business across plexes is okay, which isn’t enough for the film to sustain because of limited shows.
