Top 5: Dull Weekend At The Box Office

As expected it was a dull weekend at the box office with a number of small budget movies that didn’t create enough curiosity.

Last week’s releases Kashmora and Dharma Yogi had another decent weekend as the new releases failed to make an impact.

1) Naruda Donoruda: Sumanth had high hopes on this Bollywood remake, but it got lost in adaptation. Director failed to retain the soul and mood of the original and the film has been turned down in spite of grabbing eyeballs with impressive promos.

2) Kashmora: Kashmora continued to mint money in B and C centers. It should be a safe venture if it continues to hold its ground for few more days. The film has proved Karthi’s strong hold at the Tollywood box office yet again.

3) Dharma Yogi: Despite starting off on a dull note due to delayed release and bad promotions, Dharma Yogi has picked up over its second weekend. Positive word of mouth is helping the film to put up a decent show and it is inching towards breakeven mark in many territories.

4) Manalo Okadu: RP Patnaik’s latest attempt has been receiving positive feedback, but the film is a non-starter at the box office. Lack of crowd pulling star cast and attractive publicity campaign seems to be the reasons for poor turnout.

5) Ae Dil Hai Mushkil: Karan Johar’s romantic drama has been holding pretty well across the plexes. The film is at top 2 on BookMyShow sales in Hyderabad. Even Shivaay has done reasonably well in its second weekend.
