Telugu Cinema Is Unbearable Says Radhika!

Radhika Apte who was last seen in Balakrishna’s Legend is currently doing another film with him. She is one of the female leads in Lion.

Despite bagging to biggies in a row, Radhika is not at all happy working in Telugu cinema. She made harsh comments against Tollywood in an interview with Rajeev Masand.

Radhika said that women are not treated properly on the sets of Telugu cinema.

“They treat the hero as God. They will work according to the mood of the hero. Women are treated like third grade persons on the sets. That was unbearable for me. This industry is so male chauvinist that I decided not to work in Telugu films anymore,” she said.

Radhika only starred in two direct Telugu films apart from Prakash Raj’s bilingual Dhoni. She did both her movies with Balakrishna and we can assume that she is referring to the treatment given for Balakrishna on the sets.

It is not wrong to treat the heroes specially, but the makers should also have taken care of the heroines. It is not good for our industry’s reputation with someone directly making such comments.
