Shatamanam Bhavati Distributors in Worry Mode

Sharwanand starrer "Shatamanam Bhavati" has performed beyond expectations at North American box-office despite stiff competition from two biggies. Although it got more than 400k dollars as its opening collection, the distributors are still are anxious about its fate.

The movie is said to be bought for Rs 2.5 Cr. The Overseas distributor bought the movie from Dil Raju in a 5-movie deal package. "Shatamanam Bhavati" alone cost them Rs 2.5 Cr and publicity and advertisements extra. So if the film has to enter into profitable zone, it should collect another $200k.

For a Sharwanand starrer, $400 opening weekend is pretty huge. Still his movies don't perform much once the initial euphoria ends. So, the distributors are praying that it should perform strongly in the coming days.

Directed by writer turned Satish Vegesna, "Shatamanam Bhavati" was mix of several old family dramas. The film didn't receive much encouraging reviews from the critics who matter.
