PVP Files Case Against Vamsy Padipalli

Vamshi Paidipally, the director of "Oopiri" and "Yevadu", has landed in a big trouble. Producer Prasad V Potluri filed a complainant at Producer's Council seeking action against director Vamshi Paidipally for breaching the contract with him.

PVP produced "Oopiri" in the direction of Vamshi Paidipally that became a blockbuster in Telugu and earned the director a good name. So PVP again gave him chance to direct Mahesh Babu for the same banner and the director made an agreement with PVP Cinema for this.

Vamshi wrote the script sitting at PVP Cinema and convinced Mahesh Babu for this story. It was PVP who brought Mahesh Babu on board for this as part of their agreement for compensating the losses of "Brahmotsavam". So the script is PVP's property. But due to differences with the producer, Vamshi Paidipally walked out of this project and took advance from Dil Raju and Ashwini Dutt to do the same story with Mahesh Babu.

Since this script that Vamshi Paidipalli is property of PVP Cinema banner, producer Prasad V Potluri asked council to take action on the director and asked them to stop him from directing the same script with Mahesh Babu.

Sources told GreatAndhra.com that PVP is also planning to file defamation case against Vamshi Paidipalli.

Recently PVP produced "Brahmotsavam" with Mahesh Babu and the movie turned out to be a disaster at the box-office. On the other hand, PVP also lost money on "Oopiri" which was made in Telugu and Tamil languages.

The Tamil version incurred nearly loss of Rs 20 Cr. So both Mahesh Babu and Vamshi Paidipally made agreements to PVP to do their next movies with the production house. Hence PVP is now dragging this issue to the court of law.

PVP Statement

Hon'ble High Court of Tamilnadu has granted an injunction on December 21st, against Vamsi Paidipalli, writers Hari Krishna and Solomon restraining them to use the concept, plot conceived under production 18 of PVP cinema as advertised in the public domain.

A separate complaint has been filed in film chamber against director Vamsi Paidipalli for recuperating cost over run and extravagance in the shoot of Opiri which incurred losses in the amount of 21 crores .
