No Deal: Both Spyder and PSPK25 Remains Unsold!

Earth shattering success of Baahubali 2: The Conclusion in the overseas market is expected to give a boost to the Tollywood business in the territory.

But that is not happening even after Baahubali went on to collect over $ 20 Million in America alone. Recent increase in theater rents across USA reduces the theatrical shares by a huge margin.

As per current trend, distributor will only get 45% of the total gross collection. So buyers are not willing to bet big even on the most awaited star studded films.

Even the most anticipated movies of the year, PSPK25 and Spyder are still remained unsold for the same reason.

Makers of both the films are quoting high price for overseas rights in the wake of gigantic success of Baahubali 2.

There are no takers even after the makers have reduced the asking price by a fair margin. Earlier they have quoted somewhere around Rs. 20 crore and now it has been reduced to Rs. 17 crore, and still no one seems interested.

Although both the films are riding on high expectations, it is highly risky for the buyers to invest so much because they could end up in severe losses if the films flop.

Also the returns would be very less even if they turn out successful, means it’s not worth the risk.
