Kalyam Ram Lost Rs 10 Cr In Ism?

None of the earlier movies, including Patas, done by actor-producer Kalyan Ram were not commercially big successes. But, at the same time, they were not big disasters, because most of them, except Om, were not big budget films.

The success of Patas might not have offset the earlier losses, but Kalyan Ram’s financial position at least became stable and all his financial problems were solved to a large extent.

But the situation has come back to square one with the shock given by Kick-2 which was a disaster. And now, Ism gave him a big blow.

According to reports, director Puri Jagannath forced Kalyan Ram to spend Rs 26 crore on this film. Though he is aware of his market potential, Kalyan Ram had to bear this huge burden keeping in view his fading career.

And he had to struggle a lot to release the film. His brother NTR had to use his good offices with the buyers of Janata Garage and make them buy the film rather forcibly. Yet, Kalyan Ram had a deficit of Rs 10 crore and he was banking on the revenue from satellite rights.

But, when the film was released, buyers were doomed. Who has to bear these losses? They have no other option but to bank on NTR’s next film. And, NTR also has no option to sell his next film to the same buyers at a lesser rate by convincing his producers. This will bail out the buyers.

And, what about Kalyan Ram? He is learnt to have lost at least Rs 10 crore in Ism project. It will take quite some time for him to recover from this massive blow.
