Did Trivikram Take Her Permission?

There is a serious talk that the story of ‘A..Aa’ is similar to that of old film Meena. The storyline of Trivikram’s film – a family divided into two; heroine coming to her maternal uncle’s house and falling in love with her cousin, ultimately both the families uniting again – is more or less similar to that of Meena released decades ago, confirmed the film critics.

In fact, Meena, starring Krishna and Vijaya Nirmala, was based on super hit novel Meena written by Yaddanapudi Sulochana Rani.

There is a close connection between Trivikram and this novel. This director-cum-writer, who extensively reads Telugu literature, regards Yudhhanapudi Sulochana Rani as his favourite author. Many times, he had claimed that he had read all her novels and that they had impressed him very much.

Undoubtedly, Meena was one of the best novels of Yaddanapudi. And “A..Aa” was made based on the same story, but in tune with the new generation trend.

Earlier, we used to find influence of Hollywood movies on Trivikram’s movies – whether it was the story line, narration or screenplay. This time, he had given up the Hollywood and took inspiration from Yudhhanapudi novel.

But one does not know whether Trivikram had taken permission from his favourite author.
