Record: Mahesh, Koratala Take 40 Cr

For the first time in the history of Tollywood, a hero and director together are taking home Rs 40 Cr for a single movie.

Two years ago, normal budget of big star movies in Tollywood was between Rs 40 Cr to 50 cr. But today Mahesh Babu and Koratala Siva are taking Rs 40 Cr together as remuneration.

The industry grapevine has it that producer D V V Danayya has agreed to pay Rs 25 Cr to Mahesh Babu and another Rs 16 Cr to Koratala Siva. He will be starting off a movie in their combination from January 2017. 

For the past two years, Mahesh Babu is demanding Rs 20 plus crore per a movie and he has now hiked the remuneration to Rs 25 Cr despite his recent movie "Brahmotsavam" tanked at the box-office.

On the other hand, Koratala Siva is on demand now as he delivered a hat trick of hits with "Mirchi", "Srimanthudu" and "Janatha Garage".

The director who took Rs 10 Cr remuneration for "Janatha Garage" is now said to be taking home additionally Rs 6 Cr for his next movie with Mahesh Babu.

If reports are to be believed, both Mahesh Babu and Koratala's remunerations occupy 55 percent of the movie's total budget.
