Ace director Puri Jagannath may be down, but not out. Though his films of late have not been big hits, there is no fall in his remuneration.
According to sources in the Telugu film industry, Puri has taken remuneration of a whopping Rs 8 crore for directing the forthcoming film “Ism” starring Kalyan Ram as the hero.
Before this film, Puri had to face a number of disasters. The only film that made some money was Temper, which was also not a very big hit. Yet, Puri has not brought down his remuneration.
If the director himself is charging Rs 8 crore, one can well imagine the total budget of “Ism”. Though it is the own production of Kalyan Ram, the total production cost might as well exceed Rs 20 crore, taking into consideration the remuneration of other stars and cost of making the film.
