It's Time For Rajinikanth To Retire?

It's Time For Rajinikanth To Retire?

It is difficult to understand the psychology of these fans. They go to extremes in displaying their affection if the film of their favourite hero becomes a big hit and dissatisfaction, if the film flops.

Till a couple of days ago, people were talking high of Rajinikanth. While some described him as hero, knight and superstar, others have gone to the extreme of calling him messiah of film industry and even God of Indian films.

There were millions of comments on social networking sites praising Rajini’s simplicity and why they adore him. The film Kabali was the most awaited-ever film of the nation.

But within hours of the release of the film, there were comments highly criticising Rajinikanth. Some of them even suggested that it would be better Rajini retired from films. This is definitely a reflection of “extreme” feelings of his fans.

In fact, Rajini appeared stylishly in the film and it was only the plus point for the entire show. Yet, people are talking about his graceful retirement from films!

Surprisingly, such comments are heard from Tamil Nadu. These fans are of the view that Rajini’s magic has been on wane with every film – Kochadayan, Linga and now Kabali and this is a disappointing trend.

If he retires now, his fans would remember him at least for his earlier hit films. This is a bit ridiculous. Had Kabali been a big entertainer, we would not have heard such comments and advices. Is Rajini an exception to hits and flops?
